Job summary

Verde Canyon Railroad is seeking a Railroad Track Laborer to perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on railroad tracks and related infrastructure. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, as part of a team, to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The role requires a valid CDL, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to lift heavy objects, work nights/weekends, and read/write English. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding outdoor labor and travel if required.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to onboarding.
• HS diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Reliable transportation to work site.
• Willingness to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors in all weather.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tracks and ties.
• Operate hand and power tools; assist with heavy equipment.
• Lift and move heavy rails, ties, and materials.
• Work on uneven terrain and in all weather conditions.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE at all times.
• Adhere to schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates to coordinate work.
• Maintain records for maintenance and safety reporting.
