Job summary

ConGlobal in Edgerton, Kansas, is hiring a Railroad Switchman for critical railcar movements within our terminal. You will monitor switches, inspect tracks, and safely couple/uncouple railcars while adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires physical strength and outdoor work in all weather, with open availability for all shifts. Starting pay is $29.12/hour with a $1.50 night shift differential after training for night shifts.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of rail experience preferred.
• Switching or conductor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Must pass pre-employment background, physical, and drug screening.
• Open availability, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points for safety.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars.
• Replace damaged connectors (approx. 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel for coordinated movements.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures.
