Job summary

ConGlobal is hiring for a Railroad Switchman in Edgerton, Kansas. This full-time role involves monitoring and operating track switches, inspecting track conditions, and safely coupling/uncoupling railcars.

Expect rigorous safety practices and physical work outdoors in all weather. Starting pay is $29.12/hour with a $1.50 night shift differential after training, and open availability for shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of rail experience required or desired.
• Switching or conductor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars during assembly/disassembly.
• Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approx. 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to coordinate movements.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings in a high-traffic rail environment.
