Job summary

Savage is seeking a Railroad Switchman in Kansas to join a safety-focused team. You will assist in spotting cars, classify trains, and interact with Class I railroads, with training provided to operate locomotives and to participate in safety programs.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and uniforms/PPE. The position is a daytime shift (6:30am–3pm) with some weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Willingness to travel to other sites for training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with spotting cars on the correct track and build outbound trains.
• Classify inbound trains and interact with class one railroads.
• Daily spot and pull with site partners and inspect rail cars.
• Operate a locomotive with provided training and certification.
