Job summary

ConGlobal is hiring for a Railroad Switchman in Fort Worth, TX. This role focuses on safe and efficient movement of railcars within our terminal, monitoring track switches, inspecting conditions, and ensuring proper coupling/uncoupling.

The position requires 2-3 years of rail experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a 6pm–6am shift, including weekends and holidays. Competitive pay and benefits accompany hands-on training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of rail experience required or preferred.
• Switching or conductor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment background, physical and drug screening.
• Open availability.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs on/off railcars.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly.
• Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approximately 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to ensure coordinated rail movements.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards in a high-traffic rail environment.
