Job summary

ConGlobal Industries LLC in Edgerton, KS is hiring a Railroad Switchman to move railcars safely and efficiently, monitor track switches, inspect conditions, and coordinate with train crews.

This hands-on role requires strength to lift up to 75 lbs, outdoor work in all weather, and compliance with safety PPE; starting pay is $29.12/hour with potential night shift differential after training.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of rail experience preferred.
• Switching or conductor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly.
• Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approx. 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to coordinate rail movements.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings in a high-traffic rail environment.
