Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Roadmaster to supervise Maintenance of Way (MoW) teams, ensuring safety and reliability of railroad infrastructure across a territory.

The role involves hands-on supervision, hiring and training employees, and coordinating with other departments to meet track and capital project goals. The Roadmaster will lead by example in a 24/7 environment, manage budgets, and drive performance while maintaining compliance with federal and state safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent or experience in MoW operations.
• RWP and 213.7 qualification is preferred.
• CDL is a plus or obtainable if required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair activities for MoW ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise hourly employees and shifts; hire/train new staff and conduct performance reviews.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet track, signal, and capital project goals.
• Conduct efficiency tests, incident investigations, and cost monitoring for the department.
