Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) through Kyle Railroad Company in Phillipsburg, KS, seeks a Roadmaster to supervise MoW crews and ensure safe, reliable railroad infrastructure across a territory. You’ll lead hiring, training, and performance reviews while keeping operations compliant with regulations.

You’ll manage day-to-day track and capital project goals, collaborate across departments, and mentor a team in a dynamic outdoors environment, with a 40+ hour week and 24/7 readiness.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required by employer.
• RWP and 213.7 qualified preferred or required.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus or obtainable.
• Experience with railroad safety and regulatory compliance is valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of way (MoW) activities and ensure safety/compliance.
• Lead interview, hiring, and training of MoW staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate with departments to meet track, signal, and capital project goals.
• Supervise hourly employees and MoW supervisors; administer discipline as needed.
• Manage department budgets and monitor related costs.
