Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company in Omaha is seeking a Civil/Track Designer II to join our Railroad Services team. You will help create track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and technicians on freight and commuter rail projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, up to four years of experience, and knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and up to four years of experience.
• Successful completion of the EIT / FE exam or ability to complete the exam within six months of employment.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads Designer is a major plus.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Enjoy problem-solving and learning new technical skills.
• Willing to accept occasional out-of-town travel to meet project demands.

Responsibilities

• Design, draft elements, and integrate data; perform basic analysis of project elements.
• Work on challenging design projects, closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to meet deadlines within budget.
