Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Railroad Civil/Track Designer II to join our Hybrid team in locations including Naperville, IL. You will design and draft track and civil design plans, collaborate with project managers and engineers, and contribute to cost estimates for freight and commuter rail projects.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, EIT/FE exam progress, and knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads is a plus. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
• Successful completion of the EIT/FE exam or ability to complete within six months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Enjoy problem-solving and learning new technical skills.
• Willing to travel occasionally for project demands (out-of-town).

Responsibilities

• Design and draft track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver rail projects.
• Contribute to projects for Class I, short line, and commuter railroads and rail agencies.
