Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies is seeking a Welder 1 to perform quality welding of railcar parts and fixtures in the manufacturing process. You will use welding machines, torches and hand tools to assemble and attach fixtures to railcars.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, maintaining weld quality, and following SOPs. The role requires safety awareness and the ability to work in a production environment with PPE as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to complete and pass weld qualifications testing after attending company provided weld training.

Responsibilities

• Fit, align and clamp railcar parts for welding.
• Prepare surfaces with grinders and hand tools before welding.
• Perform manual or semi-automatic arc welding on railcar parts and assemblies.
