Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies is seeking an Operator 1 to operate a variety of machinery including saws, presses and drills to fabricate railcar parts to tight tolerances.

You will assemble and grind components, use hand tools, monitor equipment performance, and read engineering drawings to ensure quality. The role requires PPE awareness and adherence to production standards in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery (minimum 6 months).
• Ability to operate a computer to run reports and communication.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and grinds products such as carbon and stainless steel, or aluminum, using grinders, tables or conveyor systems.
• Uses hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, and ratchets.
• Monitors output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
• Adjusts parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Conducts regular inspections of parts produced through measurements.
• Reads drawings and follows production standards.
