Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies in Jackson, MO is seeking a Welder 1 to perform quality welding of railcar parts and fixtures on the production line. You will visually inspect welds and repair as needed using manual and semi-automatic welding processes, and assemble parts with welding machines, torches, and hand tools.

You will follow Weld Procedure Sheets, ensure safety and housekeeping, and operate in a production environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal and written directions and job orders.
• Able to work independently or in a team on production lines.
• Must pass weld qualifications testing after training.

Responsibilities

• Fits, aligns, and clamps work to prepare for welding.
• Performs basic manual or semi-automatic arc welding on railcar parts.
• Follows Weld Procedure Sheets at the workstation.
• Visually inspects welds, repairs defects, and performs minor repairs.
• Adheres to safety, PPE, and housekeeping standards.
