The Greenbrier Companies is seeking a Welder 1 to perform quality welding of railcar parts and fixtures in the manufacturing process. You will use welding machines, torches and hand tools to assemble and attach fixtures to railcars.
Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, maintaining weld quality, and following SOPs. The role requires safety awareness and the ability to work in a production environment with PPE as required.

The Welder 1 position is responsible for performing quality welding of parts and fixtures in the railcar manufacturing process. This position performs manual or semi-automatic welding processes to assemble parts or attach fixtures to a railcar using various equipment such as welding machines, torches and hand tools.

This job is in a production facility where the physical environment requires the employee to work in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid, dusty conditions, noise, moving machinery and trip hazards.
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment as environmental conditions dictate, including but not limited to the following:
Employee may be required to perform work at heights above four feet or within confined spaces.
Some work areas may require the use of a respirator while working. Employees working in these areas must be able to pass a respirator fit test and be clean-shaven while wearing a respirator.
