Job summary

AITX in Longview, Texas, seeks an experienced railcar repair supervisor responsible for the efficient operation of the repair shop section. You will supervise hourly workers, coordinate production timelines, and ensure adherence to AAR and AITX procedures throughout the repair process.

The role requires strong problem-solving, communication and organizational skills, with a preference for prior supervisory experience and a solid railroad background.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the railcar repair industry.
• Experience as a supervisor is preferred.
• Solid background in the railroad industry and strong problem-solving and communication skills are valued.
• Demonstrated ability to use problem-solving in a production environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with a detail- and process-oriented approach.
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of management and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Review car work orders to ensure all AAR and AITX procedures are followed throughout the repair process.
• Coordinate hourly employees to ensure repair timelines are met and all repairs are completed efficiently.
• Monitor work in progress to meet quality and time standards for all car repairs.
• Assist General Foreman in resolving personnel issues and conducting safety meetings.
• Recommend and implement improvements in production methods, machines and equipment; conduct training on new processes and equipment.
