Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC in Texas is seeking a Railcar Painter/Shop Technician to maintain and clean hopper cars, apply coatings, and support paint shop operations. Under limited supervision, you will remove, repair, and reapply outlet gates, perform final cleaning, and assist with touch-up and stencil work while upholding safety and QA standards.

Qualifications

• One year of previous experience in the railcar industry working on or with hopper cars.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and meet physical demands.
• Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, clean and reapply outlet gates on hopper cars.
• Perform final cleaning on railcars before departure (tanks or hoppers).
• Assist in paint shop tasks: touch up, stenciling, interior and exterior paint, blast.
• Maintain housekeeping of the paint shop and handle paperwork.
• Follow safety, production and QA policies; maintain equipment and PPE.
