Job summary

Holland L.P. is seeking a Service Technician to prep, clean, inspect, and perform minor repairs on railcars. Responsibilities include cleaning/inspecting railcars, removing residues, operating service vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some technical schooling preferred.
• Must possess basic mechanical / tool knowledge.
• Certified Welder to AWS D15.0 preferred, or willing to obtain
• Experience in prepping of railcars preferred.
• Ability to interact directly with the customer in a professional manner.
• Good organizational and paperwork skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a Medical Card, and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy
• Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.

Responsibilities

• Perform railcar cleaning and inspections according to established procedure.
• Removal of residual commodities from walls, ceilings and floors of railcars using manual and/or automated tools.
• Safely operate a Service Vehicle as required.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and site.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE usage and Blue Flag Rules.
• Participate in safety, quality and profitability objectives.
• Assist in inventory of material and parts.
• Maintain communication with customers.
• Develop railcar cleaning knowledge per AAR/FRA and company guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
