Job summary

ADP is seeking a Railcar Maintenance Technician to perform hands-on repair, component replacement, inspection, and modification work on passenger rail vehicles. Candidates with general mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools will excel; railroad experience is helpful but not required as training will be provided.

You will follow safety rules, work with engineers and technicians, and document work performed, conditions found, and recurring issues.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hands-on mechanical assembly or repair experience preferred but not required.
Ability to safely use common hand tools and power tools.
Ability to follow written work instructions and directions from supervisors.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Railroad or rail vehicle experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform basic mechanical assembly, repair, and modification work on commuter rail vehicles under supervision.
Remove, replace, and install components, brackets, bolts, nuts, and fasteners.
Follow written work instructions and report completion status.
Assist with vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting when issues occur.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and properly.
Record completed work and report findings and recurring issues to the Manager.
Move tools, parts, and materials within the work area as needed.
Adhere to safety requirements and work with engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
