Job summary

Watco in the United States seeks a Supervisory role to oversee train crews, coordinating switching and car movements within rail yards or plants. You will ensure safe, efficient loading, unloading, and train operations while coordinating with multiple teams.

This role requires knowledge of FRA regulations, training abilities, and adaptability to changing conditions. A high school diploma or GED and locomotive engineer/conductor certifications are required to qualify.

Qualifications

• Must pass and/or obtain reporting, testing and certifications as required.
• Must hold and continue to hold a locomotive engineers and conductor's certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate train crews.
• Communicate switching orders to train crews with safety and efficiency focus.
• Organize and communicate customer changes to cars using various systems and reports.
• Ensure daily train lists are executed accurately and timely by train crews.
• Investigate and provide accurate reports for incidents or accidents.
• Understand locomotive requirements based on horsepower and trailing tons; manage fuel costs.
• Know FRA regulations for the railroad industry.
• Train switch crews and other personnel on job duties and safety guidelines.
• Pass required training and testing.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.
