Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Construction Management/Inspection - Facilities professional for our Herndon, VA location. You will oversee project management tasks, monitor schedules and budgets, and ensure compliance with specifications on assigned projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in engineering, 10 years of construction/engineering experience (transit exposure preferred), and OSHA 10.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Ten (10) years of construction/related engineering experience, with at least two (2) years in the transit industry.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365®.
Physical ability to access locations and perform hands-on inspections if required.
Must have previous field experience.
OSHA 10-hour Construction certification.

Responsibilities

Oversee project management responsibilities for respective discipline, including hours estimates and scope.
Maintain familiarity with plans, specs, construction schedules, and contractor plans; ensure safety and compliance.
Provide engineering/project management support to the client’s project team.
Coordinate design and construction activities per plans and specifications.
Evaluate design and construction for risks and propose alternatives.
Assist in final decision documentation for the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR).
Review contractor payments and internal project costs; report status to stakeholders.
