Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Rail and Transit Engineering Intern for our New York, NY office. You will assist in planning, design, and production of engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads for R&T and other infrastructure projects.

You will acquire data, perform simple analyses, participate in field observations, and help with project documentation and cross‑functional workflows across the R&T group. This is an entry-level internship with mentorship and hands-on exposure.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours towards a related degree by the start of the internship.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases; math skills to perform simple calculations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and production of engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads for R&T and other Infrastructure projects as needed.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis, including collection of field data, routine engineering calculations.
• Participate in field observations and construction-related activities, including documentation of progress, and quality-control data collection where appropriate.
• Support general project management and operational workflows across the R&T business by coordinating cross‑functional activities, tracking deliverables, compiling project documentation, and assisting with day‑to‑day business operations.
