Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in New York, NY seeks an entry-level Rail and Transit Engineer to join the Rail & Transit Team. You will assist with planning, design, and drawing production using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads for transportation projects.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. E.I. or E.I.T. is preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of engineering experience in transportation, design or project management.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ArcGIS or Rhino.
• E.I. or E.I.T. status preferred or obtainable within 12 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and production of engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads for Rail & Transit and other infrastructure projects.
• Perform data collection and analysis including field data, calculations, and evaluation of design alternatives.
• Prepare technical sections of reports and cost estimates under supervision of senior engineers.
• Participate in field observations, shop drawing reviews, and quality-control data collection.
• Support project management by coordinating activities and compiling project documentation.
