Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company, through its Railroad Division, offers an exciting Civil Engineering internship focused on railroad track design. As an intern you will collaborate on real-world railway and transit projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, development, and project execution while supporting senior engineers.

You will contribute to design processes, prepare design deliverables, and learn to work with MicroStation and other disciplines.

Qualifications

Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum.
Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing MicroStation.
Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
Ability to perform complex analysis and design.
Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of railway and transit infrastructure projects.
Conduct engineering calculations for railway system design and analysis.
Support the design of system layouts while coordinating with various disciplines.
Develop task deliverables in a clear, thorough, and reviewable manner.
Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within the assigned budget.
Work independently under the direction of a Project Manager.
