Olsson is hiring a Project Engineer for the Rail Traffic team in the Des Moines area. You will engage with Class I railroads, state DOTs, and other stakeholders to deliver traffic and preemption design projects with an emphasis on safety and mobility.

The role emphasizes expanding technical design into project delivery and client service, with opportunities to grow in cross-functional responsibilities and leadership within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and PE licensure are required.
• 6+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic and preemption analysis and design.
• Conduct site visits and contribute to plans and studies.
• Collaborate with team members on complex projects.
• Occasional travel to job sites for observation and meetings.
