Job summary

Benesch is seeking a licensed Project Engineer in Civil/Track Design to join its Railroad Services group. You will design rail and transit systems (LRT, HRT, commuter, freight) and work with project managers, engineers, and technicians on diverse rail projects.

This hybrid role allows collaboration across offices and teams, with opportunities to contribute to Class I and commuter rail clients while growing professionally in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Civil Engineering degree and 5+ years of rail/transit project experience.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year is expected.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley platforms is required.
• Experience on railroad projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as track design engineer on projects of various scales.
• Support track and civil discipline leads on major infrastructure projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs for track and civil components.
• Develop technical specifications for projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams.
• Assist PMs with project delivery.
