Job summary

Benesch’s Civil/Track Design team in the Chicago area seeks a licensed Project Engineer to design track and rail systems and collaborate with PMs and engineers on rail projects.

The role requires a PE license or the ability to obtain within 1 year, a Civil Engineering degree, 5 years of rail experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads/OpenRail. This hybrid position supports Naperville, IL and other offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years of rail/transit project experience
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads/OpenRail
• Experience designing and engineering rail and transit systems (LRT/HRT/commuter)
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional design teams

Responsibilities

• Serve as a track design engineer on projects of various scales
• Provide essential support to track and civil discipline leads
• Conduct quantity take-offs for track and civil components
• Participate in the development of technical specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams
• Support Project Managers
