Job summary

North American Rail Solutions is seeking a Foreman I to lead daily track maintenance and construction, oversee field crews, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The role coordinates with project managers to deliver work on schedule in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills, a solid railroad/track maintenance background, and the ability to read blueprints, with knowledge of FRA regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ railroad/track maintenance experience, with ≥1 year in supervisory or management role.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints and grade plans.
• Knowledge of FRA regulations and track maintenance standards.
• Proficient in basic computer applications.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities and safety briefings.
• Delegate tasks and assist with labor.
• Inspect and ensure quality and safety of completed work.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment safely.
• Maintain reports, timesheets, equipment logs, and documentation.
• Mentor crew members and promote safety.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in incident reporting.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to meet schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
