Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Track Laborer in Dallas, TX to help maintain safe and reliable railroad infrastructure.

The role involves outdoor work in all weather, using hand tools and heavy equipment to maintain and repair track components, with on-the-job training and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include complying with federal and state safety regulations, repairing tracks, and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with heavy hand tools and outdoor work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all federal, state, and railroad safety regulations.
• Repair and rebuild railroad track using hydraulic or hand tools.
• Remove and replace ties and rails; pull and drive spikes; shovel rock ballast.
• Inspect tools and equipment for defects to ensure safe condition before use.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
