Job summary

Wabash - IT Solutions is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to design, integrate, deploy, and support complex technology systems used in railroad environments. This role spans electrical hardware, embedded computing, software, cameras, sensors, networking, ML, servers, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will work across electrical/electronic systems, embedded software, networking, sensing, vision, AI, robotics, and field engineering, with travel to field locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, integrating, or troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems.
• Reading schematics, datasheets, and system documentation.
• Working knowledge of C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving in lab and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate complete systems spanning electrical, embedded, software, networking, sensing, AI, and field infrastructure.
• Translate requirements into system architectures, interfaces, implementation plans, and integration strategies.
• Configure and troubleshoot embedded computing platforms and hardware/software interfaces.
• Integrate machine learning and computer vision solutions and ensure reliable capture, processing, and delivery of sensor and image data.
• Deploy, commission, validate, test, and troubleshoot systems in laboratories, test-track environments, rail yards, and field settings.
