Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, integration, validation, and productization of next‑generation industrial automation and robotics solutions for rail yard operations.

You will serve as the overall engineering program manager and system integration owner, guiding everything from early-stage research through pilot deployments to scalable commercial deployment, with emphasis on safety, cybersecurity, and performance across hardware, software, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience developing and delivering complex integrated technical systems.
• Experience as systems engineer, technical lead, chief engineer, or system integration owner with schedule management for multidisciplinary products.
• Proven experience transitioning industrial automation, robotics, autonomous systems, or similar tech from development into production.
• Strong expertise in systems architecture, requirements engineering, interface management, risk management, and V&V.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems integration with embedded software, controls, sensors, networks, edge computing, and cloud apps.
• Foundational knowledge of AI and computer vision solution architectures and perception pipelines within a physical system.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end system architecture, requirements, interfaces across subsystems.
• Lead architecture decisions, design reviews, safety and cybersecurity reviews.
• Define verification, validation, and deployment strategies for production readiness.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners to deliver an integrated solution.
• Act as primary system-level interface during pilots, field deployments, and production rollout.
