The program is seniority-based and unions-based, with travel during training and 24/7 on-call requirements. A Class A CDL and FRA screening are required, along with continuous learning and safety focus.

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• You must obtain a Class A CDL within 90 days of hire (training provided).
• Must pass FRA drug and alcohol screening.
• Must not have a disqualifying driving record.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform FRA-required inspections and testing of signal systems and grade crossings.
• Install, maintain, and repair signal equipment including lights, switch machines, and locks.
• Work on crossing warning devices and interlocking systems.
• Support Positive Train Control (PTC) and cab signal systems.
• Read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Operate hand tools, electrical testing instruments, and heavy equipment.
• Document inspections, repairs, and installations.
• Work safely outdoors in varying weather.
• Respond to on-call assignments, including nights and weekends.
