Job summary

Norfolk Southern Corp. is seeking an Electrical Apprentice Signal Trainee in Cleveland, OH. This hands-on, field-based program trains you to install, inspect, and maintain critical signal systems integral to safe rail operations.

Participants will learn through classroom instruction and on-the-job training, with extensive travel during the training phase and the expectation to bid on positions after completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 90 days.
• Must pass FRA drug and alcohol screening.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Relocation may be required; relocation assistance is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install, inspect, and maintain signal systems.
• Read electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
• Operate hand tools, electrical testing instruments, and heavy equipment.
• Accurately document inspections, repairs, and installations.
• Work safely outdoors and travel during training.
