Job summary

Norfolk Southern is seeking an Electrical Apprentice Signal Trainee in Princeton, IN, with a structured 52-week training program and field assignments across the seniority districts. You will learn to inspect, test, install and repair signal systems while advancing toward a Signal Maintainer role.

Expect extensive travel during training and on-the-job learning, with union affiliation and CDL development included. Medical and retirement benefits are offered after eligibility periods.

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass FRA drug and alcohol screening.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform FRA-required inspections and testing of signal systems and grade crossings.
• Install, maintain, and repair signal equipment including signal lights and switch machines.
• Operate tools and read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Work on-call with night and weekend availability.
