Job summary

Humana seeks an Assistant Manager, Rail Operations to oversee light rail operations, activation testing and safety programs. You will coordinate across Valley Metro partners, contractors, and city agencies to establish best practices and ensure safe, efficient service.

You will supervise contractors, conduct audits, monitor staffing and respond to incidents, while supporting planning of extensions and integration with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of the transportation services contractor to ensure optimum performance.
• Conduct audits to ensure safety and SOP compliance; coordinate rule changes and event planning with contractors.
• Apply operating strategies during unexpected circumstances and monitor staffing and service levels.
• Collaborate with Maintenance of Way, LRV Maintenance and Facilities Maintenance to resolve issues.
• Support Rail Activation Plan development, integrated system testing, pre-revenue operations and system safety.
• Oversee testing activities and participate in safety certification processes with checks and balances.
• Assist planning of new extensions and convey operational, safety and customer service needs.
• Support design/review and partnering meetings; act as liaison for Activation Plan with other departments and agencies.
• Contribute to plans such as Agency Safety Plan, Operating and Maintenance Plan, and Rail Activation Plan.
• Aim to improve operations and safety by recommending best practices and participating in safety committees.
• Serve as on-call resource for 24/7 operation, including nights and weekends.
