Job summary

CapMetro is seeking a Rail Engineer to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the Red Line commuter rail service. You will work under the Program Manager of Rail Transportation to execute train movements, adhere to GCOR and FRA regulations, and maintain high safety and customer service standards in daily passenger service.

You will coordinate with conductors and dispatching personnel, monitor signals and procedures, perform inspections, document issues, and respond to service disruptions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years of railroad operating experience.
• Passenger rail experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate trains following GCOR and FRA rules.
• Maintain safety and passenger service standards.
• Coordinate with conductors and dispatchers.
• Inspect equipment and report defects.
• Participate in job briefings and safety discussions.
• Respond to service disruptions and emergencies.
