Job summary

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is seeking a Rail Site Coordinator who will plan and coordinate railcar movements to and from manufacturing locations, storage yards, and customers. The role includes scheduling railcars, maintaining target loads, and ensuring proper handling of loaded and empty cars on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in rail operations or logistics coordination.
• Proficient in logistics software, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines despite delays or disruptions.
• Strong attention to detail in high-stakes operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to meet inbound railcar needs.
• Ensure local yards have capacity and correct railcar types.
• Coordinate and schedule railcars to loading racks at relevant locations.
• Execute shipments of loaded and empty railcars, including hazardous materials.
• Ensure railcars crossing borders clear customs and are not held.
• Maintain relationships with railroad contacts and plant operators.
• Communicate with rail operations to mitigate service issues.
• Identify and mitigate local service issues promptly.
• Escalate service/disruptions through proper channels.
• Rotational work schedule and after-hours support as needed.
• Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
• Process OTMA documentation to the FRA.
• Provide information for quarterly stewardship meetings.
• Work with customers and 3rd party vendors in the supply chain.
• Local inventory management of railcars to meet loading requirements.
• Review and fulfill movements for open orders (inbound/outbound).
• Generate and verify billing to railroads via SAP or RR site.
