Job summary

ARUP is seeking an MEP Project Lead Engineer within our Building Engineering team to shape and deliver major rail and transport projects across the region and globally.

You will lead technical delivery, support multidisciplinary teams, and build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders while guiding design through feasibility to completion, ensuring time, cost, quality and safety objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Requires Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with strong multidisciplinary MEP design knowledge.
• Proven experience delivering transport or rail projects within a consultancy environment.
• Understanding of major rail standards, assurance processes and MEP design delivery requirements.
• Demonstrates leadership, communication and client-facing skills with external representation and bid contribution.
• Experience leading engineering teams through design and construction with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams from project inception through to completion.
• Oversee MEP design production, assurance and compliance with major rail standards (HS2, TfL, Network Rail, Crossrail).
• Act as Electrical Technical Advisor where required; electrical background advantageous.
• Manage design programmes and resources with project planners and discipline leads.
• Support bids, business development and shaping of rail sector skills and resources across Arup.
• Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture valuing diverse experiences and ideas.
