Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; 7+ years supervisory experience in rail/transport operations or related fields desirable.
• Knowledge of FRA and AAR regulatory standards and rail industry practices advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute and communicate the safety plan for the department.
• Facilitate safety briefings to promote safe practices and procedures.
• Conduct safety observations and tests to ensure compliance.
• Eliminate, control, and communicate hazards within shop and yard.
• Manage car inspection, yard, and line-of-road activities to meet standards.
• Coach, develop, and train managers and union employees.
• Delegate and monitor daily shop and yard strategies.
• Forecast staffing and material needs to meet objectives.
