Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a Materials Specialist to support the Field Service Americas team. You will manage warehouse material for locomotive repairs, perform cycle counts, and coordinate shipments to keep maintenance on schedule.

The role requires lifting up to 35 lbs, forklift experience, and a meticulous approach to inventory. On-site work with diverse shifts is expected, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED or 1-3 years of relevant work history.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to lift approximately 35 lbs regularly.
• Experience in logistics or shipping/receiving environment.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Attention to detail in multitasking and workload prioritization.
• Work in warehouse/heavy shop environment with variable shifts.
• Willingness to obtain Wabtec Level 1 Materials Certification within 12–18 months.

Responsibilities

• Pull material from warehouse for shop use and issue to locomotives with tracking data.
• Manage stockouts weekly and obtain updated ETAs.
• Perform inventory management via cycle counts and assist annual physical inventory.
• Forecast material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives.
• Coordinate shipments and ensure correct paperwork and BOLs.
• Use multiple software programs to order, receive, ship, and track material.
