Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Materials Specialist to support field service operations on-site at a customer facility. You will manage materials, stock levels, orders, and logistics to ensure locomotives receive timely parts and maintenance.

The role demands forklift operation, inventory control, Oracle/SAP experience, and strong attention to detail. You will collaborate with suppliers, perform cycle counts, and adhere to safety policies while supporting multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work history.
• Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, and inventory control.
• Forklift experience and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork in a warehouse setting.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and maintain safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Pull material from warehouse for shop use and ensure correct locomotive assignment.
• Manage stockouts and update ETAs for parts.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
• Forecast material needs and coordinate timely material pulls.
• Perform quality checks on inbound/outbound shipments and resolve delays.
• Arrange LTL/Expedite shipments and ensure proper paperwork.
• Use software to order, receive, ship, and track material; handle Hazmat as needed.
• Generate inventory reports and process material purchases.
