Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Minnesota seeks a Locomotive Maintenance Materials Technical Advisor to support our customer (BNSF) by advising, researching, and assisting their mechanical teams. You will work with a team of Wabtec technical and materials experts to keep locomotives running at peak efficiency.

This role is 24/7, involves long shifts in shop environments, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives, with opportunities for training and career growth within Wabtec.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, 2-year degree with 2 years of professional work experience, or HS diploma with 4+ years in Operations or Military leadership.
• Experience or willingness to work in a shop environment and across shifts.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Analytical and quality improvement ability.
• Ability to interface at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Work inside locomotive diesel repair shops located on customer property, alongside customer teams.
• Provide clear technical guidance on maintenance, tooling, safety procedures, and process improvements.
• Mentor teams on troubleshooting, material handling, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with teams to promote safe work practices and drive continuous improvement.
