Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Material Handler to organize components for assembly teams and manage stored items in a fast-paced environment. You will support production Supervisors and Schedulers while maintaining accurate inventory and safe handling practices.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and proficiency with databases, inventory, and spreadsheet tools. This remote position may include occasional onsite work at Wabtec facilities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent.
• Math Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Follow written or oral instructions; handle problems with a few variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift operator training certification per OSHA 29 CFR 19110.178.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Job Requirements, Sales orders and requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments; verifies contents against bills of lading; records discrepancies.
• Conveys materials from receiving/production to storage or other areas; assigns bin locations.
• Sorts materials by size, type, style, color, or product code for storage or assembly.
• Fills requisitions and distributes items to production workers or the packing/shipping area.
• Assembles customer orders and places them on pallets or shelves; prepares for shipping.
• Maintains inventory records and participates in cycle counts.
