Job summary

RTD seeks an experienced trainer to deliver comprehensive rail maintenance instruction across classroom, field, and shop settings. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and hands-on skill development for rail vehicles, infrastructure, and related assets.

The trainer will conduct recertifications, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance training, while maintaining accurate attendance, certifications, and skills records in the LMS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; coursework in rail/mobility related fields preferred.
• Two years of experience delivering or supporting rail maintenance training.
• Experience providing operational and technical training to rail personnel.
• Ability to develop, prepare, and deliver training materials and content.
• Knowledge of rail maintenance environments and safety/regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, field, shop, and hands-on training for rail maintenance personnel.
• Monitor trainee progress, provide coaching, and conduct evaluations to verify competency.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and practical learning activities.
• Maintain training documentation within RTD’s LMS and other systems.
• Coordinate logistics for training events and ensure safe, effective instruction.
