Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, or Workforce Development is required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in training, curriculum development, or instructional design, preferably in rail or transit operations and maintenance.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing training programs and learning materials (classroom, e‑Learning, blended, simulation).
• Familiarity with rail operations and maintenance environments (light rail, commuter rail).
• Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• No DUI, DWI, or Reckless Driving violations in past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement training programs for rail operations and maintenance training.
• Identify learning objectives and performance expectations for employees operating rail vehicles.
• Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to improve existing courses.
• Develop full courses and curricula including materials, assessments, and resources.
• Create multimedia content (video, audio, simulations, eLearning, gamification).
• Write scripts and develop content for propulsion, braking, HVAC, doors, safety‑critical systems, and onboard electronics.
• Refine materials to address evolving rail technologies and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate training programs and optimize learning outcomes with data-driven feedback.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
• Maintain documentation of course designs and revisions for compliance and timelines.
• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
• Provide guidance to instructors on delivery and use of learning technologies.
