We are seeking to hire candidates for our Rail Maintenance Manager (2010).

Salary Range: $70,668.00 - $88,348.00

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for effective supervision of maintenance personnel and oversees location operations.

DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES

EM&C

I. Applicable to All Disciplines

  • Manage a group of employees with minimal direction; schedule work to maximize safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee infrastructure systems, equipment, and/or building overhaul and minor refurbishment programs including preventive maintenance, inspection, and failure diagnosis/analysis.
  • Work shifts, including weekends and holidays as required. Respond to emergencies that may disrupt normal service. Be available outside normal hours.
  • Control labor and material expenditures to stay within budget; issue material requisitions.
  • Coordinate with union personnel and other supervisors; participate in disciplinary actions and grievance procedures as needed.
  • Estimate project costs; maintain accurate records on requisitions, schedules, and reports.
  • Provide training and technical support to employees in repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct inspections, collect data, and perform trend analysis to track reliability and identify issues.
  • Assist engineering in design changes to improve infrastructure and service.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
  • Train and test new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and report hazards.
DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES

EM&C

A. Track Utility Discipline

  • Supervise inspection, maintenance, and reconstruction of railway track systems.
  • Manage vegetation control and respond to public complaints regarding right-of-way conditions.
  • Coordinate protection for work in track areas, including deploying flagmen.
  • Schedule and supervise operation and repair of track-related equipment.
  • Manage Track Fabrication and Track Machine Shops activities.
  • Schedule track outages for testing and inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EMC "All Areas"

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years of technical training; or four years relevant experience.
  • Relevant certifications, licenses, and qualifications as required by regulations.
  • Must be 213.7 qualified and subway/elevated rule-book qualified.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC applications including Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Good attendance, performance, and safety record.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EM&C Areas

  • Familiarity with labor agreements and SEPTA policies preferred.
