Job summary

Amtrak in Los Angeles is seeking a leader to supervise the maintenance facilities track gang, carpenters, and contractors, overseeing infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection in a round-the-clock operation.

The role requires coordinating outages, ensuring FRA compliance, and delivering field support, with emphasis on safety, scheduling, and collaboration with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Considerable supervisory experience.
• Roadway Worker Protection Qualification or equivalent qualification from another transit agency
• Experience with track construction, maintenance and inspection
• Must have experience working with and responding to FRA, PUC, and BMWE.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute construction and maintenance activities across infrastructure assets.
• Coordinate major track outages in collaboration with various departments to maintain established work schedules.
• Monitor procurement and ensure timely delivery, storage, and installation of materials and services.
• Provide technical support in the field, including emergency response and weekend/night work.
• Ensure compliance with FRA, local, and national construction and maintenance Amtrak codes/standards.
