Job summary

Amtrak is seeking an Assistant Division Engineer (ADE) to lead the {CRAFT} sub-Division in Safety, Quality, and Productivity. You will oversee an agreement and non-agreement workforce, ensuring safe work practices, efficient work plans, and infrastructure maintained to Amtrak standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 7 years of relevant experience, and qualification in FRA rules and railroad specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience.
  • 7 years of prior relevant experience required.
  • Qualified, or capable of qualifying, in MW-1000, NORAC, RWP, AMT-2, and applicable FRA Rules and Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through direct oversight of field activities and leadership of work plans.
  • Conduct inspections for assigned crafts on-time and in compliance with Amtrak standards and FRA requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure work is performed per relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Plan and monitor daily/weekly work plans to prioritize work and optimize resource use.
  • Oversee sub-Division administrative activities including payroll, scheduling, budgeting, safety management, and compliance.
  • Develop annual operating and capital investment plans with leadership to improve safety and reliability.
