Job summary

Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking qualified Field Engineers in Philadelphia, PA. The role supports heavy maintenance facility construction for Amtrak projects, including Acela and Airo fleets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Construction Engineering; 2-5 years Railroad Construction experience preferred.
• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a construction related position preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• AutoCAD skills a plus. Will provide training as needed.
• Construction management course work or internship experience a plus
• Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a team
• Must have strong organization skills
• Must be highly motivated

Responsibilities

• Schedule input and submittals.
• Prepare field work packages and as-built data.
• Verify installation quantities and perform field verifications, inspections and measurements.
• Coordinate with Document Control to ensure documentation.
• Attend safety meetings and project briefings.
• Update drawings with redlines and maintain drawings.
• Ensure proper cost coding and tracking of extra work.
• Liaise with project engineer and superintendent on material deliveries.
