Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee and guide capital projects from conception to completion. You will coordinate with program managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements are met.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and adherence to contractual obligations in a complex railroad environment. Onsite work with a strong safety focus is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight constraints.
• Coordinate with technical disciplines; knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and estimating.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven construction management experience in railroad environments.

Responsibilities

• Support capital construction with technical support to contractor and supervision, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements are met.
• Review potential change requests with justification and prepare change notices for PM.
• Conduct site visits to assess feasibility, determine scope requirements and challenges.
• Monitor and report on production metrics and project status updates.
• Coordinate preparation and revision of technical work procedures aligned with design and construction requirements.
• Analyze problems and provide solutions per CAPD, Amtrak guidelines.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
