Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Field Service Technician to train customers on Nordco equipment, perform on-site service, and ensure the machines operate to customer expectations.

You will travel 70–80% to customer sites, troubleshoot PLC/CanBus systems, and collaborate with engineering to improve equipment. A 5+ year background in heavy equipment maintenance is required, with an Associate's degree a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years as industrial/mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Associate’s degree a plus.
• PLC and/or CanBus troubleshooting training strongly preferred.
• General mechanical experience; read schematics for pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Travel =70%-80%.

Responsibilities

• Recommends repair parts and product improvements to customers.
• Advises and trains customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Prepares weekly travel expense records and field reports as required.
• Works with engineering and/or production to solve problems with new machines.
• Makes positive contributions towards the continuous improvement of our equipment and processes.
• Ability to work independently and achieve effective rapport with customers.
